Most of my short fiction and poetry is for adults, but I also write short fiction / poetry for kids. I’m working on two longer-form projects for kids at the moment: a middle-grade novel and a picture book.
Short stories / poetry
“Kori and Nori Go Out For
T. A. C. O.s” – published in Young Explorers’ Adventure Guide Volume 6, December 2019
“In the Garden” – A sweet poem/song for babies, in the November 2020 Highlights Hello

When I was a teen, I entered a kids’ writing contest called the Prism Award (no relation to the music video awards). First prize was $500, a trip to Toronto, and publication of our stories as books! My science fiction novella, GULUBUBBLE, was published in an illustrated paperback duo by Air Canada (yes, really) with 7-year-old Nicholas Woo’s tale, MORE AND MORE POTATO CHIPS, which is a fun story that’s exactly what it sounds like. The book’s out of print, but I’m grateful for the fantastic introduction to editing, revisions, and the thrill of holding a published book with my words in it!
